Overview

PS Store Insight (formerly GameDeals+) is a browser extension that enhances the PlayStation Store website. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data the extension accesses, how it's used, and how it's stored.

Data We Collect

Data We Do NOT Collect

No personal information — we do not collect your name, email, address, or payment information.
No analytics or tracking — we do not use Google Analytics, telemetry, or any tracking service.
No data sharing — we do not sell, share, or transmit your data to any third party.
No remote servers — all data is stored locally on your device. We do not operate any backend servers.

Third-Party APIs

The extension communicates with the following external services to provide its features:

No personal or identifying information is sent to these services. Only game titles are used as search queries. If you add games to your wishlist, their titles are sent to CheapShark once per day in the background to check for price drops; this can be disabled by removing items from your wishlist or turning the feature off in settings. As you type in the PlayStation Store's own search box, the text you've typed so far (2+ characters) is sent to CheapShark to show enriched suggestions (thumbnail, title, cheapest PC price) in a dropdown; this happens only while the search box has focus and can be turned off in settings ("Live Search Suggestions").

PSN Account Connection

Connecting your PSN account is entirely optional. If you choose to connect:

Your NPSSO authentication token is stored locally and used solely to communicate with Sony's API.
Your game library data (game titles and categories) is stored locally for the owned-games filter.
You can disconnect your PSN account at any time from the extension's settings page, which immediately deletes all PSN-related data from local storage.
No PSN credentials or data are ever sent to any server other than Sony's official API endpoints.

Permissions

Host access is limited to: store.playstation.com (UI injection), ca.account.sony.com & m.np.playstation.com (optional PSN), cheapshark.com (prices), api.opencritic.com (scores), and api.frankfurter.dev (currency rates). The extension requests no other site access.

Data Retention

All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's storage API.
Cached API responses expire automatically (4-24 hours depending on type).
Uninstalling the extension removes all stored data.
You can manually clear all cached data from the extension's settings page.

Children's Privacy

This extension does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The extension does not collect personal information from any user.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
